Business value

Some purchase documents contain costs related to one or more of your customers. To process these documents, you need to manually: define which cost belongs to which customer, create the sales document based on the purchase document, and repeat the process when the next purchase document arrives.

With the rebilling feature, this process only needs to be done once. Document Capture will then identify each customer in a purchase document (for example, by using a header or line field) and match values accordingly to a sales G/L account, item, resource, or fixed asset.

When the purchase document is posted, one sales document is created per customer – and both documents are automatically linked.

Feature details

Rebilling will be available for both purchase invoice and purchase credit memos on a template basis. After enabling the feature, you’ll set it up on the document card so Document Capture maps each identifier to the right customer. Relevant customers will be automatically suggested, based on dimensions and table lookups.

When the purchase document is posted, Document Capture will create one sales document per customer – merging lines that belong to the same customer. Unmapped values will be flagged.
