Purchase contract improvements

The Purchase Contracts module was released in October 2022, and several improvements were made to it in October 2024. With the release of Document Capture 2026 R2, there’ll be another batch of tweaks – as well as new functionality.

• Additional automation will ensure that handling contract invoices requires as little manual work as possible.
• Documents will be correctly matched to contracts based on all required values, and any issues that surface will be highlighted.
• Creating purchase contracts will be made easier and faster.
• Contract approval cycles will be clearer and more flexible.

Feature details

The functionality that will be improved or implemented includes:

• When capturing a document linked to a purchase contract, recognized document lines will be automatically matched to corresponding purchase contract lines.
• Stricter validation will apply to contract amounts and lines, and expired purchase contract lines will be excluded when matching contracts to documents.
• A warning will be displayed when an invoice line is matched to a purchase contract line that has already been fully consumed for the current invoicing period.
