Use of AI in Document Capture

This article describes how and where Continia uses artificial intelligence (AI) within Continia Document Capture.

Continia introduced optical character recognition (OCR) powered by AI in October 2023 to improve the recognition of header and line data in purchase invoices and credit memos. It's possible to recognize both header and line fields via the traditional method and via the AI.

Additionally, Document Capture is capable of analyzing documents and suggesting improvements, such as enabling the use of AI line recognition when beneficial. This is done via notifications at the top of the document.

Note

These features are available to all customers using the Continia Cloud OCR engine.

To power its AI capabilities, Continia uses a service provided by Microsoft. Therefore, Microsoft's privacy commitments toward its customers apply – meaning Continia's data is neither shared nor used to train foundation models.
