Understanding Continia Core

Continia Core is an internal app that’s used and required by all Continia solutions. From a user perspective, it’s practically invisible and therefore altogether unnoticeable, whereas from a technical perspective, it’s absolutely essential and impossible to ignore, seeing that all Continia solutions use it as an integral building block. This also means that whenever you install a Continia app, Continia Core is required in order for the app to work correctly.

In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central online, Continia Core is installed automatically, and in Business Central on-premises, our installation scripts are designed to install it as well. This is why you can see the app under Installed Extensions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (choose the Search icon, enter Extension Management, and then choose the related link).

Key tools

The following are some of the key tools in Continia Core:

Continia Solution Management – functionality and pages to help you manage virtually all aspects of the Continia solutions in terms of activation, modules, companies, usage, billing, and more.
Feature Management – a release program that allows certain new features to be turned on or off before the next major release.
Consent Management – a tool that ensures that all users have given proper consent before using any Continia solution.
Usage Management – a unified way of reporting and sending usage information to Continia for billing purposes.
Technical modules – modules that enable you to work with HTTP, XML files, JSON, Azure Blob storage, cryptography, notifications in Business Central, and more.
