Adding a Business Vendor

Posting to a business vendor is relevant in situations such as when you use a corporate credit card with a vendor that’s already in the system, and you want the transaction to be connected to that vendor in the ledger entry. The functionality is activated by adding a "Vendor No." on an expense.

To add a business vendor, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Search icon, enter Expenses, and then select the related link.
  2. On the action bar, select Edit. Note that you can add a business vendor to an expense regardless of the status of the expense.
  3. In the Posting FastTab, select Show more.
  4. Fill in the Vendor No. field.

The expense will now be posted to this vendor. As the expense has already been paid for on the credit card, a balanced posting will automatically be created on the vendor. This ensures that the expense doesn't appear as outstanding on the vendor.
