Importing FIK payments into the payment reconciliation journal

Continia Banking supports the FIK file (PBS Sektor) that Danish banks deliver with the incoming FIK payments from customers (+71, +73, and +75). The file holds no balances, so Continia Banking discards any sum or balancing line and creates its own sum and balancing lines during posting. Each payment has a date, an amount, and a payment text. The FIK file records payments as negative amounts and reversals as positive amounts. Continia Banking automatically reverses the signs during import.

Note

To import FIK payments, enable FIK Payment Import on the Continia Feature Management page.

You import the file into the payment reconciliation journal, where Continia Banking matches and posts the payments in the same way as the payments in other payment files. Continia Banking identifies the bank account from the account number in the file.

The PBS Sektor format is available for the following bank systems:

  • Bankdata
  • BEC
  • Danske Bank Business Online
  • Nordea Corporate Access
  • SDC

In the Danish localization, Continia Banking creates the CUSTSTMTFIK payment reference rules when the default setup for customer statement payment references is created. Deleting that default setup removes the rules. If you don't use the Danish localization, create a payment reference rule that matches the FIK payment reference. For more information, see Setting up a payment reference rule.

To import FIK payments into a new journal

To import FIK payments:

  1. Search () for and select Payment Reconciliation Journals.

  2. On the action bar, click New Journal.

  3. If you have more than one bank account, select the bank account that receives FIK payments on the Payment Bank Account List page, and then click OK.

  4. On the action bar, click Import New FIK Payments, Import Existing FIK Payments, or Import and Apply FIK Payments.

    Note

You can import FIK payments only when the selected journal belongs to a bank account that receives FIK payments. For more information, see To enable importing FIK files for a bank account.

  5. Select the FIK file that you received from your bank.

Continia Banking imports the payments and opens the journal. Each payment goes into a journal according to the date of the payment and the aggregation period of the bank account, so payments in other periods go into other journals. Payments after the cut-off date stay in the file, and a later import picks them up.
