Onboarding DNB
As a customer of DNB, you can use the corporate internet bank, DNB Connect, to send and receive bank files automatically between DNB and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using Continia Banking.
This article covers the steps to set up direct communication between DNB Connect and Continia Banking.
To establish an agreement with DNB
Wichtig
The agreement must be completed first. It isn’t part of the Continia Banking assisted setup, but it’s required before you can enable direct communication with DNB.
Establish the agreement
Before you can start the assisted setup for Bank Account Setup, the following requirements must be met to establish a connection with DNB:
- You must first establish an agreement with DNB. Make sure to do this before using the assisted setup in Continia Banking. If you are a DNB customer outside Norway, you must request manual approval to use direct communication with your bank. Contact your Cash Management adviser to obtain the application form and any required bank files.
Agreement details
- The required agreement is called DNB Bedrift nettbank abonnement.
- At least one user must have Order permission.
To set up direct communication
Once you have established the agreement with DNB, you can only start the onboarding process in Continia Banking.
Search (
) for and select Bank Account Setup.Click Next to begin the assisted setup.
On the Bank Accounts page, select an existing bank account, or create a new one by selecting New Bank Account.
In the Communication column, ensure that Direct Communication is selected for the bank account, and then select Next.
Hinweis
If any bank account information is missing, you may be prompted to verify or update the information.
On the Specify notification email page, enter the following information:
- Contact Email - the email address that Continia Software should use to notify you that the connection to DNB has been established.
- Company Name.
- VAT Registration No.
On the Establish the connection to DNB page, depending on whether you are setting up a Norwegian DNB bank account, you must do the following:
- Select Start DNB signup flow. A user with the required Order permissions (or equivalent DNB authorization) must sign in using their DNB Connect credentials. This user completes the signup in the DNB corporate internet bank and initiates the enrollment for DNB direct communication.
When you've completed the signup flow, return to the assisted Bank Account Setup guide and select Next.
Wichtig
If you have multiple companies using DNB bank accounts, in the DNB signup flow, you must select all the bank accounts you want to integrate via the DNB Corporate Internet bank, even though you are now only configuring Continia Banking for one company. If you rerun this digital signup flow for just one bank account, you will overwrite any settings you had before.
When you return to the overview of bank accounts, the status remains Pending until the connection is activated - either automatically or manually by Continia. After activation, the status is updated to Ready. Even when the status is Ready, you still can’t use direct communication until you receive a confirmation email from Continia Software and complete the final setup steps described below.
Hinweis
It can take up to two days before DNB approves the signup and the connection is established in Continia Banking.
If multiple companies in Business Central are covered by the same DNB agreement, you can share the certificate across those companies.
To add bank accounts to an existing DNB agreement:
- Open the DNB bank card in Continia Banking and on the action bar, select Actions > Authentication Keys.
- On the Authentication Entries page, select Related > Related Companies.
- Share DNB access with the relevant companies.
Hinweis
To share access with a new company, you must be in the company that already has access. Each company typically has its own division name and number in DNB, which must be added to the bank account card in every new company to ensure files are imported correctly.
To finalize the setup in Continia Banking
You can finalize the setup when your signup for DNB Connect has been approved and you have received an email from DNB with the relevant information needed to complete the setup or from Continia Software stating that your onboarding signup has been approved.
To complete the setup on the bank card:
- Search (
) for and select Banks - Continia Banking. - Open the relevant DNB bank card.
- Make sure the correct division information is defined on the bank card.
You have now completed the setup, and when you receive the bank files from DNB, you are ready to start using Continia Banking Direct Communication.
