Setting up bank accounts

To fully use the features of Continia Banking, you must set up your company's bank accounts for Continia Banking through the assisted bank account setup. Continia Banking allows for both manual and direct communication between your banking systems and Business Central. Direct bank communication makes it easier to exchange data between Business Central and your bank. This eliminates the need for manual importing and exporting of bank files. The Direct Communication service uses web services to automatically exchange bank data. However, not all banks support direct communication, so it depends on your bank whether this feature is available.

When you set up a bank account with Continia Banking, a corresponding bank will be automatically created in Business Central, along with a bank system. The bank system defines how bank data is validated and handled when exporting and importing bank data.

To activate and set up a bank account:

  1. Activate the company by selecting Activate on the notification. The wizard guides you through the activation process.
  2. After activating, the Bank Account Setup wizard opens. On the Bank Accounts Setup page, select the bank account that you want to set up for Banking.
  3. Go to the Communication type columns and select direct or manual.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Enter the IBAN and other missing bank information and select Next.
  6. If the bank is not supported, you can opt-in to be emailed about possible support in the future. Select Next.
  7. Select Finish. After you've set up the bank account, the status in the Bank Accounts overview will be set to Ready, and the bank account will be ready for use.
