Using the Continia Expense App versus the Expense Portal
The Expense Portal and the Continia Expense Mobile App share the same data. Therefore, anything you submit in one is visible in the other, and saved receipts are available in both. Which one to use is mostly a matter of where you are and what's most convenient for you. You can also upload expenses for yourself or others via email, see Submitting expenses by forwarding an email.
When to use the Expense App
Submitting expenses in the Expense App is the better choice when you're:
- Traveling and want to photograph receipts as soon as you receive them.
- Logging mileage immediately after a journey.
- Submitting a single expense on the move.
For more information, see Overview of the Continia Expense App and Submitting expenses.
When to use the Expense Portal
Choose the Expense Portal when you're:
- Working at a desk and have several documents to enter at once.
- Submitting a complete expense report with many line items.
- Editing details that benefit from a larger screen and keyboard, such as long descriptions or allocations across multiple dimensions.
A common workflow is to capture receipts in the Expense App throughout a trip, then complete and submit the documents from the online Expense Portal when you're back at your desk. For more information about submitting expenses via the portal, see Creating and submitting expenses in the Continia Expense Portal.
