AI-powered account and line suggestions
Rather than manually filling out the Type and No. fields in a document header, as well as the Translate to Type and Translate to No. fields in the document lines – or using the line matching functionality – it's possible to use an AI capability in Continia Document Capture.
With your template configured accordingly, the AI can suggest the most likely G/L account, item, resource, fixed asset, or item charge for each line. If the document doesn't have any lines, the most likely G/L account for the header is suggested.
Suggestions are ranked based on the level of confidence of the AI model in use, and each suggestion is accompanied by an explanation so you can understand why it was made. This explanation is provided in your profile language, even if the document is in a different language.
Because AI models can make mistakes, suggestions are never applied until you review and confirm them. If needed, you can also request another round of suggestions. When you confirm a suggestion, Document Capture learns it so you don't need to use this AI capability when the same line appears in the next invoice associated with the same template.
Considerations
- This feature only applies to open purchase documents, whether PDF or XML files.
- Document Capture's existing translation and matching capabilities take precedence. Therefore, AI-powered suggestions are only made for a document's header and lines that Document Capture doesn't recognize.
- The quality of the data in your catalog influences the quality of the suggestions provided. Organizing your catalog consistently (e.g.: assigning category code to items) helps the AI narrow down suggestions before it starts ranking them, resulting in faster runs with fewer tokens.
- When narrowing down resource suggestions, the AI uses both resource names and dimensions. Lines containing the name of a person or project, for example, can yield reliable suggestions if your resources are well described.
Prerequisites
Before configuring a template to make use of AI-powered account and line suggestions in Document Capture, you must set up an AI provider and activate these capabilities. For more information, see Continia AI capabilities.
To enable AI-powered line suggestions
- Search () for and select Document Categories.
- Click the PURCHASE code to open the document journal.
- Select the desired document and, on the action bar, click Template > Template Card.
- Optional: to allow the AI to automatically suggest values when a document is captured, enable Auto Suggest Type and No. on the AI Capability FastTab.
- On the AI Capability FastTab, under Line Types Used in Suggestions, enable the desired line types.
Vigtigt
If Auto Suggest Type and No. is enabled, suggestions are generated automatically when a document is captured. This only applies to headers without a type or number, as well as to lines without translations. Enabling this setting doesn't exclude the need to review and confirm suggestions before they're applied.
