The HTML template
The HTML template is one of the cornerstones of Continia Document Output, as it determines what's in the body of the emails that are sent using Document Output. It’s the text each recipient reads in the email itself.
To be precise, the HTML template constitutes the email body for one email template line. Because each email template line can have its own HTML template, different languages and/or recipients can have different body texts, depending on your setup. Being a mandatory part of the email template, the HTML template must have content in it in order for the email template to work.
With a look and feel like a regular editor, the HTML template enables you to edit not only the email text, but also the signature and the subject field. You can also use merge fields to pull data from Business Central into the text, such as invoice numbers, customer names, or addresses.
To edit the HTML template
In order to edit the HTML template for a selected email template line, follow these steps:
- Search () for and select Email Templates.
- In the list of templates, in the Code column, select the template that contains the HTML template you want to edit. The Email Template Card opens.
- On the Email Template Line FastTab, in the list of template lines, select the line whose HTML template you want to edit.
- On the FastTab title bar, click Email Template > Edit HTML Template to open the HTML editor page.
- The General FastTab provides an overview of certain important line settings and enables you to add an email subject:
