Business value
A new option will be added to the document category configuration, allowing you to use Microsoft Graph (MSG) as the email protocol in on-premises environments. This is important because Microsoft is retiring Exchange Web Services (EWS) on 1 October 2026.
Support for MS Graph will initially be available in Document Capture version 28, and later rolled out to versions 25, 26, and 27.
Feature details
Although EWS will be supported until the end of September 2026, Microsoft encourages all to migrate to MSG as soon as possible. Support for MSG was added to the Document Capture Service in version 25.00, enabling the use MSG as your email protocol in Document Capture.
However, this feature will make it easier to switch from EWS to MSG – directly from the Document Category page.
