Business value

Organizations with large lookup tables need better control over which values are synchronized and made available to users. Previously, table filters on Configured Fields only supported text-based values, making it difficult to limit large lookup lists by date.

Table filters now also support Date, Time, and DateTime fields, along with advanced
filter expressions such as ranges. This gives administrators a far more precise way to narrow down
large lookup lists. This reduces sync volume and gives users a more focused, relevant set of values to choose from.

Feature details

When configuring a table filter on a Configured Field, the filter values now store as a full
AL filter expression, rather than a single fixed value. This applies to all supported field
types, including: Date, Time, and DateTime (not just text).

Features include:

  • Broader field type support - you can now define filters on Date, Time, and DateTime fields, in
addition to the previously supported Text, Code, Integer, Decimal, Option, and Boolean fields.
  • Range and advanced filters - standard AL filter syntax is supported, so a filter can express a
range (for example, a date range) instead of just a single fixed value.
  • Existing filters remaining editable - you can review and refine previously configured filters to further limit the values shown to users.

These features allow administrators to have finer control over large lookup lists. This is especially useful when limiting what is synchronized with Continia Online.
