Importing Electronic Documents in Denmark

As a customer in Denmark, you can import electronic documents into Continia Document Capture either by email (as attached files), via the Peppol eDelivery Network, or through the Danish NemHandel network.

As Continia is registered as an official Peppol and NemHandel access point, Document Capture can connect you directly to the Peppol eDelivery Network and the NemHandel network, thereby eliminating the need to sign up with any third parties for integration. Once connected, you can start receiving electronic documents from vendors in Denmark and other countries. To learn more about how to connect to the Peppol eDelivery Network or the NemHandel network, see Setting up the Continia Delivery Network.

To promote the general adoption of Peppol, the Danish authorities mandate that all public authorities must be able to receive electronic documents through the Peppol eDelivery Network. Document Capture supports the Peppol BIS 3 format, which is the latest standard.

NemHandel is a public digital infrastructure for the exchange of business documents for both private organizations and public authorities. It was introduced in Denmark almost 20 years ago and has been the standard for the digital exchange of invoices and other business documents with Danish authorities since then. With the introduction of the Danish Bookkeeping Act (Act No.700 of 24 May 2022), all Danish organizations must now be registered with NemHandel and be able to send and receive electronic invoices and credit memos via the NemHandel network. Document Capture fully supports this and makes it easy for you to comply with all related rules and regulations.

You can also receive and import electronic documents from vendors in other countries. Most widespread formats are supported, but not all. For a list of supported formats, see Supported Formats.
