Posting environmental data automatically

The Automated Posting feature in Continia Sustainability simplifies the process of importing and posting environmental data, minimizing manual effort and ensuring real-time updates. With this feature enabled, users can automate data imports from Business Central, keeping Environmental Journals and Reports accurate and up to date.

Without automation, the process involves multiple manual steps—entering emission data in invoices, expenses, or document journals, posting the transaction, navigating to the Environmental Journal, manually importing the data, reviewing for missing details, and posting the entry again before finally viewing the results in Environmental Reports.

With automated posting enabled, the workflow becomes much simpler. Once emission data is entered and the transaction is posted, the system automatically imports and posts the data, making the results instantly available in Environmental Reports.

You can enable automated posting in the following ways:

  • System level - for new G/L Accounts and Item cards, enable Automatically Post Environmental Entries by Default on the Continia Sustainability Setup page, under the General FastTab.

  • G/L Account or Item level - for both new and existing G/L Accounts or Item cards, navigate to the relevant card and enable Automatically Post Environmental Entries. For more information, refer to the Connecting emission data to G/L accounts article.

Bemærk

If automated posting is not enabled, a background job queue will automatically import posted environmental data entries into the Environmental Journal for review, completion, and manual posting. You can activate the job queue in the installation wizard.
